Epic Games has delayed an unannounced shooter featuring Marvel and Star Wars characters to transition the project to an artificial intelligence production model, according to reports from Rock Paper Shotgun, Eurogamer, Engadget, Kotaku, Polygon, GamesIndustry.biz, Ars Technica, IGN, and TweakTown. The publications cited a Bloomberg report by journalist Jason Schreier, who based the account on anonymous sources familiar with the Disney collaboration. [1][2][3][4][5][6][8][9][10]

Rock Paper Shotgun reported that the unannounced game was originally due for release in March before being delayed indefinitely. As FTMQ Creators reported earlier, the project represents a major collaboration with Disney, which owns Marvel Comics and the Star Wars media franchise. [1][11][12][14][15]

According to Engadget and Kotaku, a project director informed developers that the game is moving to an AI-first production plan. Internal communications directed staff that there would be no more hand-written code and ordered all artwork for the project to be generated using full AI workflows. [3][4]

Rock Paper Shotgun and Kotaku both reported that Epic Games ordered the development team to make heavier use of Anthropic's Claude AI models. Engadget noted that the shift was not universally well-received by developers on the project. [1][3][4]
