Massive Cartoon Network leak exposes over 200GB of animation files

A leak of over 200 gigabytes of Cartoon Network production files has surfaced online. Mashable and Gizmodo both report that the repository contains decades of behind the scenes animation assets. According to Mashable, the files were shared through a Google Drive folder that the outlet accessed and verified. [1][2]

The leak contains storyboards, model sheets, puppet rigs, and character assets. Gizmodo reported that users on X claim internal assets from more than 30 network shows are circulating across the internet. Mashable and Gizmodo both report that affected series include The Amazing World of Gumball and The Powerpuff Girls. Gizmodo added that materials from Teen Titans, Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Powerpuff Girls Z are also included. [1][2]

The data compromise occurred shortly after corporate restructuring at the network's parent company. Mashable and Cosmic Book News both report that the leak coincided with Skydance absorbing Warner Brothers. Gizmodo reported that the incident occurred less than a week after Paramount acquired Warner Brothers. [1][2][3]

Cartoon Network previously built its original programming through initiatives such as What a Cartoon, which produced series including Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, and The Powerpuff Girls in the late 1990s. The brand later expanded into adult-targeted animation by introducing its late-night programming block, Adult Swim, in 2001. [6]
