Microsoft officially announced release details for its new flagship 15-inch Surface Laptop Ultra during a keynote event in San Francisco on October 7, 2026. According to Digital Trends and The Verge, the laptop starts at $2,599 and is available for pre-order. CNET, The Verge, and Tech My Money reported that the device will officially launch on October 16. [1][3][4][10]

The Verge reported that the base $2,599 configuration features an eight-core CPU, 24 gigabytes of memory, and 512 gigabytes of storage space. Digital Trends noted that the laptop features a 15-inch touch-sensitive mini-LED screen, advanced thermal design, and a metallic chassis that measures 18 millimeters thick. Engadget and CNET both reported that the machine is designed for developers, creators, and high-performance workloads. [1][2][3][4]

CNET, Digital Trends, and The Verge all reported that the laptop is powered by Nvidia's RTX Spark platform. According to The Verge, the device includes a magnetic USB-C charging cable attached to the right side of the machine, replacing Microsoft's previous Surface Connect charging port. [1][3][4][5]
