Apple announced its first touchscreen MacBook Pro at an invite-only event for creators in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28. The Publish Press reported that the announcement took place during Apple's Pro and Tell day, which included speakers such as Markiplier, Petra Collins, Colin Rosenblum, Samir Chaudry, Issa Rae, and Kane Parsons. The new laptop incorporates tandem OLED display technology, which Apple first introduced with the M4 iPad Pro in 2024, according to reports from 9to5Mac and MacRumors. Market intelligence firm TrendForce stated that Apple is expected to ship between 1.2 million and 1.5 million units of the new laptop in 2027. [3][4]

Pricing for the new MacBook Pro starts at $2,899 for the 14-inch model and $3,399 for the 16-inch model, MacRumors reported. 9to5Mac noted that customer availability for the new hardware begins on November 6, with pre-orders open immediately following the announcement. [2][4]
