Ars Technica and Eurogamer report that the iOS version will support devices dating back to the iPhone 11 and the third-generation iPad Air. Kotaku reported that the game has been compressed to a file size of 3.8GB, while Wccftech placed the file size under 5GB. Kotaku added that the primary compromise in the port is the removal of multiplayer functionality. [1][4][5][11]
According to The Verge, Eurogamer, and Digital Foundry, the mobile port incorporates a decade worth of updates released since the original launch of the title. Eurogamer and Polygon noted that the development process was aided in part by technology developed for the studio's upcoming title, Light No Fire. [3][4][7][9]
No Man's Sky originally launched for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in August 2016. Eurogamer noted that pre-orders for the iOS version opened on the day of the announcement. [4][12][13]
