Canadian creator Lilly Singh is returning to independent comedy sketch production on her personal YouTube channel, PPC Land and Indian Broadcasting World reported. Singh previously left the platform's daily upload routine to host a late night television show for NBC and pursue traditional studio film projects. [1][6][8]
According to PPC Land, Singh addressed her strategy shift during an interview on the YouTube Official Blog on October 15, 2026. She stated that studio executives continuously urged her to make her content less niche, more marketable, and more palatable for legacy audiences. [1]
Singh also stated that legacy distribution agreements restricted the international reach of her recent projects, PPC Land reported. Her feature film Doin' It failed to gain distribution to target audiences in India, the United Kingdom, and Trinidad and Tobago. Mashable India and Soap Central reported that online audiences have reacted to her decision to prioritise creative autonomy over studio constraints. [1][5][7]
Singh originally launched her YouTube channel in October 2010 under the pseudonym Superwoman. By October 2025, her channel accumulated 14.2 million subscribers and more than 3.5 billion overall views. She is now rebuilding her video production operations using dedicated art departments to support her revived sketch comedy output. [1][8][11]
