Netflix and Krafton partner on live action PUBG television series

Netflix is developing a live action series based on the battle royale video game PUBG, Eurogamer, Variety, IGN, Engadget, Gizmodo, and Game Developer all report. Game publisher Krafton announced the project on 30th October 2026. Donald Glover is set to direct, write, executive produce, and star in the adaptation. [1][2][3][4][5][6]

Donald Glover's brother and writing partner Stephen Glover will also write and executive produce the project, Eurogamer reported. Production duties are split among several entities, including Michael Schaefer for Neon TV and Fam Udeorji for Gilga. Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee will executive produce for LV3H, which is Krafton's entertainment division responsible for developing and producing the series. [1]

PUBG: Battlegrounds was published in 2017 by Krafton after being developed by PUBG Studios under the direction of Brendan Greene. The battle royale game drops up to one hundred players onto an island to battle until one survivor remains. Donald Glover previously created and starred in the television series Atlanta, winning two Primetime Emmy Awards. [7][8]
