Netflix secures three year live streaming deal for La Velada del Año

Netflix has secured exclusive live streaming rights to La Velada del Año, the live boxing and entertainment spectacle created by Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos. According to PPC Land and About Netflix, the platform will exclusively stream the 2027, 2028, and 2029 editions of the event to a global audience. PPC Land noted that financial terms, event dates, and specific details regarding advertising and sponsorship were not disclosed. [1][2][4][5][6]

The event features internet stars competing in boxing matches inside football stadiums. PPC Land reported that La Velada del Año has been broadcast mainly on Llanos' Twitch channel since 2021, achieving an average audience of six million and reaching a peak of 9.3 million concurrent viewers in 2025. Llanos began creating content on YouTube at age 15 before becoming a professional esports commentator for the Liga de Videojuegos Profesional in 2014. He later joined G2 Esports in 2019 as a full-time caster and content creator, expanding his reach in the Spanish-speaking market. [7]

The exclusive deal represents a major migration of top tier live creator content from Twitch to a subscription streaming platform. According to PPC Land, it remains unsaid whether existing sponsors and advertising models will transition alongside the event during its three year run on Netflix. [1]
