Lucasfilm shopping Star Wars Battlefront 3 with Bungie and DICE pitched

Lucasfilm is seeking a developer for a potential third Star Wars Battlefront video game, according to reports from Kotaku and Polygon. Kotaku, Polygon, and Destructoid all report that Giant Bomb host Jeff Grubb highlighted a rumor originating from a Quartermann gossip column in Electronic Gaming Monthly. Polygon and Bespin Bulletin both report that Disney and Lucasfilm are considering two primary candidates for the project: Sony studio Bungie and EA DICE. [1][2][3][8]

Kotaku noted that almost ten years have passed since the launch of Star Wars Battlefront 2. Polygon reported that Disney is looking to revive the franchise in response to renewed interest and popularity for the 2017 title.
