Social media platforms are assessing whether to allow the streaming of a December United States military execution, Social Media Today reported. U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth proposed broadcasting the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, who was convicted of killing 13 people in a 2009 mass shooting at a Texas military base. [1][3]

According to Social Media Today, citing CNN and The Verge, many platforms have not yet clarified their stance on hosting the footage. The proposed stream could create a new conflict over platform moderation policies and relationships with the administration of Donald Trump. [1]

As FTMQ Creators reported earlier, the Pentagon confirmed plans for a firing squad execution. Donald Trump stated that he will personally determine whether to stream the event, while Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr said he will defer to Defense Secretary Hegseth regarding television broadcasts. Vice President JD Vance stated he will not watch the broadcast. [2][3]
