Google has updated its Gemini Notebook application on Android and iOS to include a built-in audio recorder, 9to5Google and NewsBytes both reported. The new feature follows the rollout of Connected App integration in the previous week. [1][2]
According to 9to5Google, users can access the tool via a new microphone icon located between the camera button and the Create New floating action button at the bottom of the interface. Activating the recorder from the homepage automatically generates a new notebook containing the audio file. Alternatively, launching the microphone from the Sources tab saves the recording to an existing notebook file. [1]
The addition allows recorded notes to reside directly next to user sources. This arrangement enables users to chat with, cite, and build content from their audio files while making ongoing edits, 9to5Google reported. [1]
Gemini Notebook, which was formerly known as NotebookLM, is an online research and note-taking tool developed by Google Labs. It uses artificial intelligence, specifically Google Gemini, to help users interact with their documents. [3]
