Universal Pictures horror film Other Mommy topped the domestic box office over the weekend with an opening total of $27.5 million, according to reports by The Wrap and Variety. By contrast, Aaron Sorkin's tech drama The Social Reckoning grossed $5.5 million in its domestic debut, failing to hit soft initial tracking estimates. [1][2][4]

In the United Kingdom and Ireland, Other Mommy debuted in first place with £1.97 million ($2.66 million), Variety reported. The Rob Savage film narrowly outpaced Sony's psychological thriller Verity, which earned £1.94 million ($2.62 million) in its second week, by a margin of £33,263 ($43,970). [3]

The Social Reckoning serves as a follow-up to the 2010 movie The Social Network, with Aaron Sorkin returning to write and direct the feature, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Wikipedia. The film dramatizes the 2021 Facebook whistleblower leaks and stars Jeremy Strong as Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, as FTMQ Creators reported earlier. [4][13][14]

Following the opening weekend figures, actor Jeremy Strong sent a text message about the results to his Molly's Game co-star Jessica Chastain, who stars in Other Mommy, according to reports by The Wrap and Variety. Chastain subsequently shared screenshot images of their exchange on her Instagram account. [1][2][11]
