Verizon has issued an apology to customers who pre-ordered Apple's new iPhone Duo after encountering delivery delays. MacRumors and Mezha.net both report that the mobile carrier sent emails to affected buyers citing an unexpected shipping delay that will cause deliveries to take a little longer. [1][2]
To compensate for the inconvenience, MacRumors reported that Verizon is offering affected customers a 100 dollar Verizon gift card. The carrier did not provide an updated delivery schedule in the customer emails. [1]
The delay follows extraordinary demand for the 2,000 dollar foldable device, as FTMQ Creators reported earlier. Apple retail staff were previously advised that there would likely be no walk-in stock available on the October 23 launch day, with shipping estimates slipping into early 2027 in some regions. [6]
The fulfillment issues mark the latest operational challenge for the carrier around Apple's new hardware line. As FTMQ Creators reported earlier, Verizon confirmed it will charge 10 dollars per month for Apple's iPhone Handoff feature, which is double the 5 dollar monthly fee charged by T-Mobile. [7]
