Dune Awakening schedules free expansion and offline mode release dates

Funcom is releasing a free expansion titled Blood and Ice for its survival multiplayer online game Dune: Awakening on December 1. Rock Paper Shotgun, Eurogamer, and The Otaku's Study all reported the release date for the update, which will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. [1][2][3]

According to Eurogamer, the update adds a frozen survival map called the Polar Sink along with approximately 35 hours of new progression. Eurogamer reported that the expansion introduces new vehicle modules, augments, and specialisation traits. Rock Paper Shotgun added that the game is also introducing an offline mode this month, allowing solo players to progress without an internet connection. [1][2][4]

The new Polar Sink map alters the primary survival mechanics of the game. Rock Paper Shotgun and Eurogamer both report that instead of managing extreme desert heat, players must actively seek out heat sources to stay alive in cold conditions. [1][2]
