Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg announced during the company's third-quarter earnings call that its Muse artificial intelligence agent has been downloaded more than 10 million times since launching to users in the United States and Canada last month. Social Media Today and CNET both reported on the earnings details. Social Media Today noted that Meta views Muse as a key driver for earning revenue from its artificial intelligence infrastructure expenses. CNET added that 25 percent of the 10 million users are using the agent to shop online, with an average spending figure of $200 per transaction. [1][5]

The Verge separately reported that Meta has re-enabled conversation sharing features for Muse after security researchers discovered that public web links were easily accessible. Researchers at Claroc identified public domain name system entries that exposed links containing sensitive materials, including internal revenue reviews for a marketing business and commercial loan applications. The earnings report comes as Meta faces ongoing scrutiny regarding artificial intelligence privacy. Time reported that privacy experts have raised concerns over how older adults use the agent for daily tasks and medical queries, while Chief Financial Officer Susan Li stated on the earnings call that users will simply need to adapt as the company expands its autonomous software strategy.
