Skydance Chief Communications Officer Melissa Zukerman has established her executive communications leadership team, according to The Wrap. The appointment follows the completion of the merger involving Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. The corporate restructuring comes as media sector job cuts continue across major entertainment conglomerates, Deadline reported. [1][2]

The new communications leadership structure includes Laura Watson overseeing corporate, executive, and strategic communications, as reported by The Wrap. Shannon Buck will handle corporate communications and media relations. Virginia Fout will lead global and executive events, while Deborah Marcus will manage corporate and social responsibility. [2]

Skydance Corporation formed on August 7, 2025, through the merger of Paramount Global and Skydance Media. Skydance reached an acquisition agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery on February 27, 2026, and closed the transaction on October 6, 2026, following an antitrust review and settlement. The combined entity operates Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures as distinct film studios. [3]

Industry job reductions have continued after the post pandemic recovery, dual Hollywood labor strikes, streaming market adjustments, and the integration of artificial intelligence, Deadline reported. The news outlet added that a series of Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025 further impacted traditional media operations. [1]
