YouTube announced a new policy experiment on October 29, 2026, that gives eligible creators a 30-day window to review, edit, or delete content that violates spam policies before facing channel termination, Storyboard18 reported. As FTMQ Creators reported earlier, the test applies to creators who face immediate account deletion for specific spam-related infractions. [1][9]

Channels selected for the experimental programme will be placed under a 30-day lock, according to Storyboard18. YouTube will notify eligible creators about the account restriction through email and via alerts in YouTube Studio on desktop. During the 30-day lock period, channel owners will lose access to certain platform capabilities while they review their uploads. [1]

Under the trial mechanism, eligible creators can maintain their subscribers, channel handle, and YouTube Partner Program status even if they are required to remove all uploaded videos, Storyboard18 said. Creators may also appeal the spam-related termination during the 30-day window. [1]

The platform was bought by Google in November 2006 for 1.65 billion dollars [7, 8]. The site receives more than 500 hours of video uploads every minute [8]. As FTMQ Creators reported earlier, standard entry thresholds for monetization require creators to have 1,000 subscribers alongside either 4,000 watch hours over 365 days or 10 million Shorts views over 90 days.
